A review of the various blood and urine chemistry tests will be provided in this session along with some best practices for handling samples. Details on interfering factors will be included.

Speaker: Barbie Papajeski, MS, LVT, RLATG, VTS (Clinical Pathology)

Papajeski teaches clinical pathology and laboratory animal courses in the veterinary technology program at Murray State University where she has been employed for 30 years. In 2020 she received the Board of Regents Teaching Excellence Award. Before full-time teaching, she worked in the clinical pathology department of Breathitt Veterinary Center and for the last three summers, has returned to keep her diagnostic skills current. She served on the organizing committee of AVCPT and currently serves as secretary. She is the past secretary of KVTA. In addition to her instruction for Murray State, she offers continuing education in clinical pathology-related topics to veterinary technicians through in-person and online CE opportunities. She loves to hike in beautiful Land between the Lakes when she has the opportunity. Her husband and son share their home with four dogs, four cats, Nigerian Goats, and an assortment of rabbits, fish, chickens, ducks, and other farm birds.
