The ABVTA is excited to continue hosting several mini refresher webinars. These sessions are focused on refreshing basic skills and knowledge for RVTs and may be beneficial for those who have re-entered practice after a pause or have recently changed practices or practice types. 

Rediscover how amazing hematology is! This lecture will provide a review of basic hematology including approach to slide review before delving into some of the changes we can see, when they’re important, and what those important changes mean.

Speaker: Dr. Kim Pattullo

Dr. Kim Pattullo grew up in Calgary where she first obtained a Bachelor of Music from the University of Calgary with the original goal of becoming a high school band teacher, before completely changing paths and becoming a veterinarian. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan in 2007 and spent 4+ years in small animal practice before returning to the University of Saskatchewan to begin a residency in clinical pathology, completing her Master in Veterinary Science and becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. Post-residency, she first taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Veterinary Medicine for 2 years as a Clinical Instructor before moving to the Seattle, WA area to work at a private diagnostic laboratory. She joined Antech Diagnostics in January 2021, and relocated to lower mainland BC.  

In her free time, she enjoys knitting, reading, hiking/walking, and is currently learning how to play the ukulele. She has 2 cats, Frank and Harriet, who love having her work from home.
