Speaker: Julie Kerr, RVT

Julie Kerr is a Registered Veterinary Technologist - graduating in 2012 from SIAST in Saskatoon SK.  She has worked primarily in general practice, beginning with 6 years in Whitehorse, Yukon.  After experiencing early career burnout and leaving the field, she chose to re-enter veterinary medicine as a locum RVT and has been locuming since early 2021.  One of the most rewarding things about locuming for Julie is that she is providing support to colleagues as a solution to prevent burnout risks.  She is registered with BCVTA and ABVTA and travels to provide contract services. She loves to knowledge-share with colleagues, as well as educating clients and students alike; her chosen path leads her to many interesting experiences and learning opportunities.  Her article “Surviving Burnout” has been published in dvm360 and she has spoken of locuming as a guest on the Veterinary Business Success Show podcast and as a speaker at the BCVTA 2023 Spring Conference.  When she is off-contract she explores other passions – writing, volunteering, gardening, skiing and just-being.  Find her at JulieKerrRVT.com
