PRESENTER: Dr. Colin Harvey, BVSc, FRCVS, DipACVS, DipAVDC, FF OMFS.

Dr. Colin Harvey graduated from the University of Bristol School of Veterinary Sciences in 1966, and then completed an internship and surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania, becoming a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in1972. After identifying a particular clinical interest in the head and neck during his residency, and observing the very poor state of dentistry at VHUP at that time, he sought training in dental procedures from faculty at the nearby UPenn School of Dental Medicine. In 1987, he was one of eight members of the Organizing Committee that obtained ABVS approval of the American Veterinary Dental College as a specialist organization. He was a founding member and the second President of AVDC, and subsequently served as AVDC Executive Secretary for 14 years. He was a member of the American Board of Veterinary Specialties for 14 years, serving as Chair of the Executive Committee.
