Join us as we dive into a discussion on rabies. In this session, we will cover the basics of the virus and clinical signs and the current epidemiology in Canada and Alberta. We with go over some brief history on how we got to where we are today, and details about the Alberta Rabies Program. Speaker: Hollyn Maloney

Hollyn works for the Government of Alberta as the Public Health Veterinarian. In this position, she splits her time between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation. Her focus is on zoonotic disease prevention and control, which includes managing the Alberta Rabies Program. Prior to working with the provincial government, she worked with a commercial swine and poultry practice where she was able to explore her interest in population medicine. Hollyn obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Calgary and her Masters of Public Health from the University of Alberta.
