This course covers a brief review of periodontal disease and discusses the importance of putting a home dental care plan in place after a professional dental scaling. Finally, there will be a review of the scientific data behind each of Virbac’s C.E.T.® Brand Products. The goal of this course is for veterinarians and their team to become comfortable with creating an appropriate home dental care plan for their clients using C.E.T. Brand Products.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. You will review periodontal disease, its local and systemic effects, and be comfortable with talking to clients about it.
2. You will be able to provide a personalized home dental care plan to clients and be comfortable explaining the scientific support for recommending C.E.T. Brand Products.

PRESENTER: Natasha Smith, BSc, MBS, DVM
Dr. Natasha Smith is the Veterinary Technical Services Manager for Virbac in Canada. In her role she supports veterinary teams located in Ontario through to British Columbia. She is a 2016 Ontario Veterinary College graduate. Five years after starting her career, as a companion animal veterinarian in Eastern Ontario, she and her husband moved back to the Elora area (in Ontario), close to where they were originally from. In 2021, Dr. Smith started practicing at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital. In October 2022, she was ready to broaden her contribution to the Canadian veterinary industry and she joined the team at Virbac Corporation. Dr. Smith continues to enjoy supporting clients and patients one or two Saturdays a month at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital. In her role with Virbac, Dr. Smith
loves to visit veterinary teams and provide education, whether it be at a breakfast, lunch or dinner meeting, or in a one-on-one discussion. Additionally, she welcomes phone calls, from veterinarians, to discuss cases and answer any technical questions.
